You go to the dentist for a regular check-up twice a year. You go to the doctor for a medical check-up once a year. Why don’t you also perform periodic financial health check-ups? You probably don’t have to do it once a year, but at least do it once every other year. And don’t just order a credit report. Since you’re already in action, why not also take the time to verify the appropriateness of price and coverage of your auto and homeowner’s insurance. How about reviewing your retirement accounts to make sure they are appropriate as well?
